Power of the Sun: Is your Sun Conjunct, Combust or Cazimi ?

I wrote this article to seek more information on a topic that fascinates me, combusts vs cazimis. Combusts are common, they occur when a natal planet is very close to the Sun. Cazimi means “in the heart of the sun,” and occurs when the Sun in the birth chart is 17 minutes or less from another planet. First, I will discuss conjuncts and combusts, to give a foundation for cazimis.

When a natal planet is in combust, that means it is very close to the sun. Two planets are in conjunction, they are close to each other and this closeness intensifies both planets. The accepted degrees vary but, generally, planets within 10° are conjunct.
